What you'll learn

A real class, not a 90-minute ad.

Most anatomy training buries you in names — origins, insertions, Latin. Then you sit down to draw and none of it helps, because knowing a muscle's name isn't the same as seeing it on a body. This class teaches the other way.

01

The three big volumes

Every figure is built from a handful of large forms before a single muscle matters. I'll show you what they are and how to check your own work for the errors that read as "off" but are hard to name.

02

A live écorché breakdown

I'll take a form down to the muscle and back up to the surface, so you can see how what's underneath drives what's on top — the connection that makes a figure feel solid instead of assembled.

03

Live Q&A on your work

Bring a drawing or sculpt you're stuck on. There's no faster way to learn than watching your exact problem get solved in real time. You'll leave with something you can use that night.

Torso écorché — skeleton on the left, full musculature on the right

You learn anatomy by learning to see — and you learn to see by building the form.

The idea behind the whole class

Who's teaching

Ryan Kingslien

Ryan was on the original ZBrush development team and built the Rake brush that a generation of artists sculpts with. For 20 years he's taught the figure to artists working at ILM, Blizzard, EA, and studios across games and film.

His approach is simple and stubborn: you learn anatomy by learning to see, and you learn to see by building the form. That conviction is under every minute of this class.
